Dissolution method of Carbomer 940
Due to the special structure of carbomer resin, it easily swells when it meets water, so it must be set aside to allow it to fully dissolve in the water, otherwise the gel will be easy to join.
1. First add the carbomer 940 weighed in proportion (generally added amount is about 0.3-0.5%) into the beaker, and then wet it with a little alcohol to pre-disperse, then add 80 degrees Celsius water soak, even if not After stirring for 4-6 hours, it basically dissolved completely.
2.Prepare the carbomer 940 solution, and then mix the other components with the carbomer 940 solution and then neutralize it with TEA to a pH within the range of 6-7. Because it is not easy to control the amount of triethanolamine, if the amount is too large, the system will become thinner, so it is recommended to first dilute TEA into a 10% aqueous solution, drop it in a little bit with a dropper, add while stirring, see When the system becomes more and more transparent and the state becomes more and more thick, the PH value is measured, which is basically in this range.
