The optimal fluorescence wavelength is 425nm (check the chemiluminescence rate in 60mMK2S2O8, 100mK2CO3, PH11.5 solution).

But it also has disadvantages:
1. Luminol fluoresces in the presence of iron, iron-containing alloys, horseradish or certain bleaching agents. Therefore, if the crime scene is thoroughly treated with bleach, the fluorescence from luminol will strongly mask any blood stains.
2. Luminol can detect a small amount of animal blood and urine, so if the room to be tested contains urine or animal blood, the test results will be biased.
3. Luminol reacts with excrement, and the light emitted is the same as that emitted by blood.
4. Luminol may interfere with other tests, but luminol does not interfere with DNA extraction.
5. The use of luminol needs to be in a dark environment, otherwise the fluorescence is difficult to identify.
