EDTA K2 Anticoagulant Raw Material CAS25102-12-9 AR Grade
The Chinese name of EDTA K2 is dipotassium ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid. Its appearance is white crystalline powder, tasteless and soluble in water. The pH value of the aqueous solution is about 5.3, and the CAS is 25102-12-9. It is widely used for complexing metal ions and various cleaning products. It is more commonly used as a blood anticoagulant in disposable vacuum blood collection tubes.
Principle of EDTA K2 Anticoagulant
As a chelating agent, EDTA K2 has a greater affinity for calcium ions in the blood, and can effectively chelate and gather them together, so that prothrombin cannot be converted into thrombin, preventing the blood coagulation process at the source. To achieve the purpose of inhibiting the coagulation of blood samples, every 0.8mg can anti-coagulate 1ml of blood. In addition, EDTA K2 is used in vacuum test tubes. After blood collection, it can complex some ions in plasma to make certain types of proteins or nucleic acid substances more stable.
