TOOS, also known as N-ethyl-N - (2-hydroxy-3-sulfopropyl) -3-methylaniline sodium salt, is a novel Trinder's reagent characterized by high water solubility, sensitivity, and stability. It is widely used in clinical biochemical testing, especially in multiple testing items such as blood glucose, uric acid, and renal function.

The working principle of TOOS in glycated albumin assay kit
The glycated albumin assay kit (enzymatic method) mainly consists of glycated albumin reagent and albumin reagent, among which TOOS plays a key role as a chromogenic substrate in the measurement process. Its working principle is as follows:
Glucose oxidation to generate hydrogen peroxide: Under the catalysis of glucose oxidase, glucose is oxidized to generate hydrogen peroxide.
Coupling reaction generates color products: Hydrogen peroxide undergoes coupling reaction with MBTH and TOOS under the catalysis of platinum bismuth nanoperoxidase, producing a purple product solution. As the concentration of glucose increases, the color of the solution darkens.
Colorimetric determination of glucose content: Measure the absorbance of the solution at a wavelength of 590nm. Based on the relationship between absorbance and glucose concentration, the glucose content can be accurately calculated, thereby indirectly determining the concentration of glycated albumin.
