1, Detection of solution transparency
The transparency of the solution is a fundamental indicator reflecting the purity of Tris samples. When testing, first weigh an appropriate amount of Tris powder (the amount should be determined according to actual needs and laboratory standards), add an appropriate amount of purified water, and shake well in an oscillator until completely dissolved. When the solution is stable and observed in an environment with sufficient natural light and no obvious reflection, if it is uniformly clear and transparent, without visible suspended particles, precipitation or turbidity, it meets the requirements.

2, Ash content inspection
The ash content measures the residual inorganic impurities in Tris, and the detection requires strict control of temperature and steps. First, select a clean porcelain crucible and place it in a muffle furnace. Burn it at 550 ℃ -600 ℃ until it reaches a constant weight (the difference in weight between two weighings exceeds the specified range). Remove it and place it in a dryer to cool to room temperature. Accurately weigh and record the results. Weigh a certain amount of Tris and place it in a crucible. Heat it on low heat in an electric furnace to carbonize it, avoiding local overheating and splashing. After the sample is completely carbonized (without black smoke), transfer it to a muffle furnace and continue to burn it at 550 ℃ -600 ℃ until the residue turns grayish white. After cooling, accurately weigh the total mass of the crucible and residue, calculate the residue mass (total mass minus constant weight of the crucible), and determine whether it meets the standard.
3, Chloride test
Chloride testing is carried out using precipitation reaction method, and the content is determined by turbidity comparison. First, weigh an appropriate amount of Tris and add a certain volume of pure water to stir and dissolve to obtain the Tris solution. According to the chemical inspection specifications, add 25% nitric acid solution to the solution to adjust the acidity, then add 1mL of 17g/L silver nitrate solution and shake well with a glass rod. Let it stand for 10 minutes (avoiding vibration and contamination), then compare the turbidity of the test solution with the standard chloride solution under the same light. If the turbidity of the test solution does not exceed the standard solution, it meets the requirements.
4, Sulfate test
Sulfate testing is also based on precipitation reaction, and the content is evaluated by turbidity of barium sulfate precipitation. When testing, first weigh the specified mass of Tris and dissolve it in an appropriate amount of purified water to prepare a uniform aqueous solution. According to the testing standard ratio, add 20% hydrochloric acid solution to the solution to eliminate interference from impurities such as carbonate ions, and then add 3mL of 250g/L barium chloride solution. Shake well with an oscillator to ensure sufficient reaction. Place the solution in a clean colorimetric tube and let it stand at room temperature for 20 minutes to allow the sulfate to fully react with barium chloride to form barium sulfate precipitate. After 20 minutes, observe the turbidity under uniform lighting. If it is within the specified qualified range, the test is qualified.
5, Heavy metal testing
Heavy metal testing aims to detect harmful ions such as lead, mercury, and cadmium in Tris, and must follow the requirements of reagent preparation and reaction conditions. First, weigh a certain amount of Tris and dissolve it in an appropriate amount of purified water to obtain the mother liquor. According to the alkaline properties of Tris, add a certain proportion of acetic acid solution (concentration determined according to neutralization requirements), stir while adding, adjust the solution to neutral or weakly acidic, and dilute to the specified volume. Measure 30mL of diluent and place it in a colorimetric tube. Add 0.2mL of 30% acetic acid solution to stabilize the acidity, and then add 10mL of freshly prepared saturated hydrogen sulfide water (prepared and used to ensure the concentration meets the standard). Close the lid tightly and shake well. After the reaction is completed, observe the color. If the depth of the dark color of the solution (produced by heavy metal sulfide precipitation) does not exceed the standard color depth of the heavy metal solution after the reaction, it meets the safety standard.
